Advanced Respiratory Technologies was founded in 2015 by global experts in extracorporeal life support, and is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylania. ART's team has successfully produced a fully functioning 3rd generation prototype, with ongoing efforts to secure funding and further enhance our innovative solution to chronic respiratory disease. Our team has 4 issued patents in the United States and the United Kingdom, with 3 additional pending patents.

David Skoog
Chief Scientific Officer, Founder
PhD, MS, BS
David is an expert in the design, computational modeling, manufacturing, and testing of artificial lungs with over 13 years of experience and patents issued in the US and Europe. David took part in the Carnegie Mellon University NSF I-corps cohort and was selected as 1 of 8 Innovation Fellows in 2015 by the Carnegie Mellon University Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Matthew Bacchetta
Chief Medical Officer, Founder
MD, MA, BSE
Matthew is a world leader in clinical extracorporeal life support, lung transplant, and pulmonary hypertension. Matthew is the Surgical Director of the Lung Institute at Vanderbilt University, as well as an Adjunct. Professor in Biomedical Engineering. Matthew also served in the military in Iraq & Afghanistan.
Keith Cook
Chief Strategy Officer, Founder
PhD, MS, BSE
Keith is a global expert in artificial lung theory, design, and testing. Keith serves as Professor and department head of Biomedical Engineering at Canegie Melon University (CMU) and is the director of the CMU Bioengineered Organs Initiative. He is the former editor of the respriatory support section of the American Society of Artifical Internal Organs Journal.
